I am a female. And I am damn proud of it.

In the beginning of this month i went to the OfflineSummit, a conference on how offline experiences drive business. There was one talk that caught my eye and was Shelley Zalis' talk about her company The Girls' Lounge. She discusses the challenges women face everyday in the business development world. I walked out of the talk feeling captivated by her speech. Women, of all generations live in a gender-built society. We were taught from a very young age of who we can be and how to look like. We're taught that behind every successful CEO, there is a woman. But we're not encouraged to be a CEO. We're taught that men are able to act ruthless and independent, but as a woman, it is not ladylike.
I want to change that. We need to stand together and help each other to build a society for our generation and the next generations coming, that men and women are equal. As much as a man can do it, women can too. We need more female leaders, more female voices to shout that we are just as capable to excel in any career. Too many times, we little ourselves by our body frame or what society considers "normal". Let's break that tradition together and inspire others around us, we can embrace our femininity and still be a boss ass lady.
